Happy Post Labor Day to you! I hope that you were able to enjoy your time off and do Nothing!!
Everyone that I spoke with said that was their number one plan. Well and of course finding a cook out to crash… lol.
But I noticed in my newsfeed from many of my social media outlets, I have many friends who were starting the assessment phase after hurricane Harvey. I can honestly say that I didn’t know that I knew so many people from Houston. I want to encourage you to find a way to play a part in helping those who were affected.
So many of us have definitely been praying for the Houston families, those affected, as well as, the responders who have been giving their time and support. I remember visiting New Orleans after Katrina and seeing the aftermath, immediately my heart went out to those in Houston with respect to how to treacherous Katrina was. This is not for the sake of pity but rather one brother’s hand reaching out to pull up another brother.
There are many ways to show your support and help those who were affected in Houston.
Many churches, ministries, and organizations have had various drives and donation stations set where you can drop off nonperishable goods, personal hygiene items, and the typical every day essentials. Also there are various individuals and organizations who are accepting money.
I do suggest staying away from that option unless you personally know someone that you can trust would put the money to use correctly or a specific family in Houston that you can sow into.
My desire is just to reach out and share the awareness as I’m sure many of you are. Please understand that whatever your mode of action, just showing you care is worth more than words. Prayers are always solicited and accepted!! Let us also continue to do that. In addition to working and extending a hand to our brothers as they may need.
Building with promise…
Until next time,
